  • Digital Manager
  • General operating responsibilities:

    • Establish and manage an XML workflow to streamline production for digital and print products
    • Develop and manage a content management system to archive and retrieve XML content
    • Set up and manage a system for content tagging for easy searchability and retrieval of specific pieces of content
    • Continuously research and manage digital distribution systems for delivery to various digital devices
    • Project management for digital products
    • Perform usability tests on all digital projects and lead team to develop or make refinements to products based on usability results.

  • Marketing Associate
  • General responsibilities:  The Marketing position requires a “hands-on” approach to all aspects of marketing and promoting the Saint Mary’s Press brand products and services through digital and promotional pieces. 
                             
    Specific operating responsibilities:

    • Coordinate and execute all advertising and direct marketing promotional activities including direct mail, e-mail, web, and print
    • Manages schedules for implementation of marketing plans, communicate schedules to all relevant parties and ensures dates are met
    • Responsible for writing persuasive and powerful marketing copy for both web and print collateral content to drive our web marketing strategy
    • Collaboratively envision, plan, and implement the company’s promotional plans as well as measure customer response that will lead to well-informed decisions
    • Assist with set up of trade shows and special events as well as select products and accessories to be displayed
    • Influence the design and structure of the company’s web site to ensure ease of navigation and use for visitors
    • Coordinate vertical market strategies to drive sales goals
    • Creative driver of company’s social media forums such as (Facebook, Twitter, company blogs, etc…)
    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to help create strategic marketing plans
    • Strong Search Engine Marketing knowledge including paid and non-paid methods
    • Continuously research and engage in technical education to keep Saint Mary’s Press on the leading edge of marketing opportunities
    • Consult with product development personnel on product specifications such as title, design, and packaging
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, business, communications, or related field
    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook
    • Knowledge of and appreciation for the Saint Mary’s Press Brand and Mission
    • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, focused and ambitious
    • Excels in creative and innovative thinking and problem solving
    • Projects positive attitude, self-confidence and enthusiasm
    • Ability to prioritize, juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines, both as an individual contributor and support team member
    • Knowledge of Catholic market is a plus but not required

  • Web Applications Developer / Coordinator
  • General responsibilities: Backend development and support for websites that digitally deliver content and include other electronic components with a high degree of usability; coordination and project management of digital projects with outside vendors. Key qualities are flexibility, creative thinking, positive attitude, teamwork, and a willingness to learn and try new things.

    Specific operating responsibilities:

    • Create websites and other applications in collaboration with customers, designer, database administrator, and a cross departmental team with a focus on usability.
    • Perform usability tests on all digital projects and develop or make refinements to products based on usability results.
    • Work within a production schedule and a budget to meet deadlines and effectively manage available resources.
    • Develop, test, and document using best practices.
    • Design and develop new solutions, refine existing code, and optimize dynamic content.
    • Participate in direct user observation sessions in service of product development discovery.
    • Participate in all phases of software and application discovery, development, and testing.
    • Ensure red carpet customer service and tech support to customers.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Degree in programming, computer science or related technical field
    • Software development experience in any of the following server-side languages: ColdFusion, Java, PHP, .NET, or Ruby on Rails
    • Experience working with XML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON
    • MSSQL and stored procedure development is a strong plus
    • Experience with jQuery JavaScript framework a plus
    • Knowledge and experience with Google Analytics
    • Knowledge or experience in User Centered Design
